Stitch Along: My Stitched Rainbow Day 13: Long and short Stitch
Long and Short Stitch
Long and Short Stitch. Yet again I didn't do these very neatly and I wish I had used fewer strands of floss. I find 3 is enough to give you some coverage but not look so bulky.
The instructions I'm following state the following.
'A form of Satin Stitch. Often used to feel in an shape which is too large for satin stitch. Also used to achieve a shaded effect. The first row of the stitches are alternately long and short and closely follow the outline of the shape. The stitches in the following rows are worked to achieve a smooth appearance.'
Don't be like me, try to keep your stitches even.
